When a person dies it leaves the entire family as well as friends in a devastating state. It is a severe loss and no word can actually describe the pain of losing a loved one. People are indeed so affected that they stop talking altogether. Sadness lurks over us and life becomes unbearable. It is a tragedy that actually has the capacity to ruin many lives at once. Grief stricken family members and friends need a lot of love and care at such point of time. There are many things one should keep in mind if he/she is dealing with someone who has lost a family member or a friend but some of the utmost points are :

LET THE PERSON GRIEVE

It is rightly said that grieving is essential. That is so because when a person grieves that is to cry or express himself it makes them feel light. Hundreds of emotions are going through in a person's mind when he/she witness the death of a loved one. Only after grieving whole heartedly one can feel better and actually focus on his life again. Listening to the person who is grieving is very important because it makes them feel that someone cares for them and thus eventually help them to recover from the loss.

PROVIDE EMPATHY AND NOT SYMPATHY

Noone wants to get sympathized when a person close to their heart dies. It is considered fake and people feel a lot worse afterward. Therefore it is better to provide empathy to the person who is grieving rather than providing sympathy. Staying neutral is very important as only with it the person can feel that things will be fine eventually.

SHOW LOVE AND CARE

It is of utmost importance to make the person feel loved when he/she is grieving. When we show love and care it not only comforts the griever but also make them feel a little better. Doing nominal things such as cooking food for them, helping them at home, trying to create a light environment etc are some of the things one can do so as to make the other one feel better. Love is indeed a crucial step in the healing process and with its help only a person can actually come out of his miserable state.
